Equestrian Information
Equestrian camps are divided by skill and experience level of the rider. Foundation Riding
Camps are suitable for riders who are just getting started and riders who are developing their riding skills. We will build confidence in riders while working on equitation at a walk and jog. Campers will have the opportunity to jump their horses and participate in games on horseback.
Intermediate Riding Camps
are suitable for riders with at least 50 hours of riding instruction. Riders should be
confident with walking and jogging as we will work on polishing skills at a lope/canter,
working on simple lead changes, leg yielding and more. Campers will work toward
jumping a 2’ jump. Campers must be accepted into this level of riding camp. Please
contact Andrea in the office by phone or email to discuss if this is the right camp for your
child.
The Advanced Riding Camp is intended to polish the skills of accomplished riders
who are already confident at a walk, jog/trot and lope/canter. Campers will fine-tune
their communication while riding, working on extension and collection, learning trail
patterns, and jumping courses. Campers must be accepted into this level of riding camp.
Please contact Andrea in the office by phone or email to discuss if this is the right camp
for your child. A video of your child riding may be necessary if you live too far away to
come in for a riding assessment.
General Information
In each camp the children are divided into activity groups, and each activity
group has staff members assigned to it. Ranchers in all camps ride the horses and swim
everyday. Throughout the day they participate in a variety of other
instructional and recreational activities based on their preferences. The
overall camper to staff ratio for the camp is one staff member to four
campers.
Health and safety are emphasized at all times at Circle Square Ranch.
Basic health care is provided on site, and Brantford General Hospital is just fifteen minutes from the Ranch property.
All activities are supervised by trained leaders who care.
